LA River Eco Tour and Secret Stair Hike

Service Description

Frogtown, Echo Park, and Silver Lake are some of LA's coolest neighborhoods. This walking tour will take you through parts of each while discussing the history of the LA River, transportation, secretive religious groups, and more! Once the group is ready to go, we will start with a talk about the LA River. That's right, LA has a river - and it even has water! This undervalued waterway is starting to receive a lot of attention from locals and visitors. You'll walk away knowing so much more about the past, present, and future of the LA River. From Frogtown, the tour will head to Silver Lake. Famous for hipsters, restaurants, and painted stairways. Silver Lake is easily one of LA's most beautiful neighborhoods and you will take a stroll through a section that many never see. After a short walk through Silver Lake, you will continue to Echo Park. This hilly section of LA has some of our steepest streets and most secluded stairs. Trails left behind by forgotten spiritualists and religious groups provide amazing views of the area as you ascend to our highest point. Finally, the walk will return to Frogtown for a relaxing stroll by the river. Shops and cafes are beginning to dot the river path and you'll see that this area is a popular spot for bike ride or cup of coffee. I NFORMATION This is a 4.4 mile walking tour. We will be walking up and down several hills and stairways. You must be able to walk up and down for extended stretches of time. The tour will take around 2.5hrs-3hrs. There is parking at Lewis MacAdams park. Remember not to leave valuables out in the car! Restrooms! There are restrooms at Lewis MacAdams park. THERE ARE NO OTHER PUBLIC BATHROOMS ALONG THE WAY. You will need to be prepared to be out for 2.5hrs, so definitely take the opportunity at the meeting point. If you would like to tip your tour guide, you are more than welcome. Cancellation Policy

Most tours can be cancelled up to 48hrs before the tour start time and you will still receive a refund. This does not apply to the A Perfect Day in Malibu experience. Tickets for APDIM are non-refundable. When possible, we will reschedule you for no charge (must notify at least 48hrs ahead.) All tours have a 2 person minimum and may be canceled if we do not get enough guests.
