Service Description

Welcome to Silver Lake! This artistic neighborhood on LA's east side is one of the coolest places you can visit in Los Angeles. Silver Lake is home to celebrities, amazing restaurants, great shopping, and some of LA's best hidden street art. Join me, one of the stair painters, for a 2hr walking tour to learn all the ins and outs of this fascinating neighborhood! This 2 mile walk will take you up and down several hidden stair cases in the area. It is a great workout, and along the way you will see famous locations like the Micheltorena Stairs, which have been dubbed "the most instagrammed stairs in the world" and the J'taime LA Stairs. The stairs also provide sweeping views of the surrounding area. Throughout the tour, your guide will share the fascinating history of this neighborhood and LA as a whole. Hear the stories of Griffith J. Griffith, the man behind Griffith Park, and William Mulholland. Learn how Silver Lake got its name and grew into one of the most amazing neighborhoods in Los Angeles. As we walk, keep an eye out for a celebrity! Many celebrities live in the area and others often stop by to eat at some of LA's best restaurants. The food scene in Silver Lake draws locals, celebs, visitors, and more! You'll leave the tour with plenty of recommendations. Don't forget to take tons of pictures! Your guide is happy to be your personal photographer so that you don't miss a shot. And the neighborhood is full of great places for photos. Whether you want to pose with the art or just capture the view, this tour is great for pictures. The final stop on the tour is United Bread and Pastry, a family owned Filipino bakery. This 40+ year old bakery is a legacy business making some of LA's best Filipino food. We get you a pastry to end the tour and as a reward for completing the stairs!
