Service Description

Echo Park is a neighborhood that everyone should go out of their way to visit. This bohemian chic neighborhood near DTLA is full of amazing restaurants, historic homes, and great hiking trails. This tour will weave together all these things and more into a 2hr experience that will show you the best that Echo Park has to offer. The tour begins with a walk around historic Echo Park Lake. You'll learn about the park's creation, evolution, and current uses. Echo Park is a popular backdrop for TV shows, movies, and photos. The tour will begin and end at this location, so you can easily hop into one of the famous Echo Park swan boats afterwards. From the lake, the tour continues into the area of Angeleno Heights. Considered the first suburb of Los Angeles, this neighborhood is the closest you'll get to taking a time machine back to Victorian era LA. Homes from the 1870s-1890s line the streets and are often featured in major film productions. This is where you will see the Charmed tv show, the Thriller music video, and the Fast and Furious film homes. If you love architecture or film, Angeleno Heights is a must visit location. After Angeleno Heights, you'll be led across Sunset Blvd and into Elysian Park, the home of Dodger Stadium. While walking above the Avenue of the Palms, you'll hear what it took to create the park and the baseball stadium. Creating a home for the Dodgers was a development that changed LA forever (and some are still angry about it!) This section of the walk can have amazing views and will feel like you've gone to another city entirely! The final leg of the journey is through the residential and commercial parts of Echo Park. The neighborhood is full of twists and turns and secret stairs! The tour will wind its way back through the hills and across Sunset Blvd. Along the way, you'll hear about how Echo Park was an early hotspot for some of Hollywood's earliest stars like Charlie Chaplin! This walk will take about 2-2.5 hrs. You must be able to walk around 3.5 miles, including a few hills and stairs.

Cancellation Policy

Most tours can be cancelled up to 48hrs before the tour start time and you will still receive a refund. This does not apply to the A Perfect Day in Malibu experience. Tickets for APDIM are non-refundable. When possible, we will reschedule you for no charge (must notify at least 48hrs ahead.) All tours have a 2 person minimum and may be canceled if we do not get enough guests.
